Overview
This course explores the homes, foods, family life, agriculture, trades, travel, worship practices, social customs, and daily experiences of the biblical world. Students examine how people lived in ancient Near Eastern and Greco-Roman settings so that cultural references in Scripture can be interpreted with greater accuracy.
By connecting biblical passages with their historical and cultural background, students will strengthen observation, interpretation, teaching, and preaching while avoiding assumptions based solely on modern customs.
